Frequently asked questions

If you have your own mat, please bring it to class. A limited number of mats will be available to hire for a $2 coin donation to Marine Rescue Onslow. All other equipment including blocks, straps and bolsters will be supplied.

You will feel most comfortable wearing breathable, light fabrics that allow you to move freely. Most students wear leggings or shorts and a t-shirt, yoga top or sports bra.

For Yin you may also like to bring a light jumper or blanket to be warm at the end of class.

Students are able to cancel out of their class by logging into wavesyogawa.com.au and removing themselves up until 1 hour before class. If you need to cancel within an hour before class please text Desiree on 0455290576.

If you are running late, please enter the room and join in quietly. Ideally, give yourself plenty of time to get to class. The days you don't really feel like moving are often the days you need it most.

Students who book in and do not attend class (No-Show) will be charged the full price of the class: $27 for drop-in or 1 credit from their class pass.

Students are encouraged to book on-line in order to avoid congestion at the start of class and to allow the class to start on-time. Cash or e-transfer payments can also be made in class if space is available.

MEET DESIREE


My Yoga journey began nearly 2 decades ago when I was going to Uni and working shift work to keep up with life. On a whim, I decided to try a Bikram Hot Yoga class and completely fell in love with the practice. Yoga for me is so much more than exercise. It is freedom. Having severely misaligned my body from gymnastics and dance in my youth, yoga gave me the tools to bring my body back into balance and the freedom to gracefully age without pain.

Yoga in many ways is a practice of acceptance and gratitude.The greatest gift yoga has given me is the ability to quiet my mind from the constant noise of the ego and appreciate the simple joys in life.

In 2016 I became a certified Yoga Teacher with Power Living Yoga Australia. Other than my family, my passions are yoga and the sea, which is how Waves Yoga and Wellness WA was born.
